ITU-R Electronic Facilities

The new platform improves the user experience and brings enhancements for the TIES Focal Points to manage Users and TIES access rights within their organizations/entities.

ITU User Account​s are free of charge and allow you to register for ITU events, subscribe to ITU mailing lists, access the ITU Bookshop, and use certain applications of ITU sectors.

​​​​​​TIES (Telecommunication Information Exchange Service) is a set of networked information resources and services offered by ITU without any charge to ITU Members (Member StatesSector MembersAssociatesAcademia, and UN System) to support their participation in the activities of the Union.

An ITU user account is required to request TIES access that must subsequently be approved by the corresponding TIES Focal Point.

ITU Document Management System – Contributions and Circulars

An important part of the processes involved in electronic publication of Meeting Documents has been reengineered:

  • The ITU Web Site provides now a more coherent presentation of the information about Meeting Documents:
    • Information about Document Source and Study Questions is directly available on the Web Pages
    • Temporary Documents are now available on the WEB for the duration of the relevant meeting and for 48 hours after its closure.
    • Meeting Documents appear together with their Addenda, Corrigenda…
  • New tools aimed at information retrieval have been introduced on the ITU WEB site for Meeting Documents:
  • unique naming scheme for all ITU documents has been developed and implemented for all meeting documents and is being generalized to all ITU official documents.
    When you download a Meeting Document, the unique name is used for the downloaded file.
    This new unique naming scheme constitutes an important basis for all subsequent efforts in the area of ITU electronic document handling.

ITU Document Management System – Recommendations

« ITU Recommendations » has moved to a new system, providing improvements including:

  • Grouping of Recommendations (e.g. ITU-T H.323):
    • Recommendations appear together with their Annexes, Appendices, Addenda, Corrigenda, Supplements and Errata
    • In-Force, Pre-Published, Draft, Superseded and Withdrawn versions are grouped together
  • A « What’s New » page specific to Recommendations has been added
  • The Recommendations Search Engine now provides full-text searches
  • Direct Navigation between versions of Recommendations (e.g. ITU-R BT.1124)
  • Additional information provided about Recommendations (e.g. ITU-T H.222.0)
  • Unique naming of downloaded Recommendation files

ITU-R templates have the common styles used in ITU documents.
Instructions for use

  • Selected the language below and save it in your template folder (e.g. « C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Templates »).
  • Use the template to obtain a word Document with the proper ITU styles, headers and footers.
